Races in 3DS

What can I play?

The races available in 3DS are listed below. However, these races are broad, flexible categories that are available for inspiration. There are very, very few restrictions on what you can play in the 305. In fact, it’s easier and quicker to list what we don’t allow:

  • You may not play a character with god-level or god-like abilities. No all-powerful deities!
  • You may not play a character that is under the age of 18, or that appears to be under the age of 18. No kids allowed!
  • You may not play a character that is someone who exists (or existed) in real life. You cannot be Walt Disney!
  • You may not play a character that is a pre-existing fictional character. You cannot be Dracula himself!

Other than that, if you can imagine it, you can play it in the 305! The information below is listed for guidance in your character creation–however, these are guidelines, not rules. Use your best judgment when determining what you want your character to be; where you start your story is up to you! Also, when interacting with others, remember that they themselves have the freedom to be what they want to be. Their interpretation might be different than yours…and that’s okay!

What are the race options in 3DS?

The race options in 3DS are meant to give an extra descriptor for your character. They do not affect what your character is able to do within the 3DS system. If you are unsure about what your character is, or could be considered, you can always choose Anomaly as your race, and adjust as-needed later.
