The Lore of the 305

The year is 2075, and the world lies in ruins. Decades of unchecked global warming have unleashed relentless weather disasters, while income inequality and political corruption have become the norm. Superstorms have obliterated many coastal cities, turning once-thriving hubs into watery graveyards. Those responsible for the chaos – the wealthy elite and political power brokers – have retreated to heavily fortified, gated communities in the countryside, leaving the cities and their inhabitants to fend for themselves.
What remains of civilization is a shadow of its former self. Government, law, and order have crumbled, leaving a patchwork society held together by necessity and desperation. The urban landscape is a festering ground for decay and conflict, but that wasn’t the only blow to the world’s fragile state. In 2075, an event known only as “The Incident” shattered the very fabric of reality. Theories abound about its cause: Was it a catastrophic CERN experiment? A divine reckoning? No one knows for sure, but the aftermath was undeniable.
Reality itself was torn asunder, opening pathways for beings that were once the stuff of legend. All manner of creatures, including Vampires, demons, shifters, and fae emerged into the dim, smoke-choked daylight—some stepping through from other dimensions to seek their fortune in a strange new world, others revealing themselves after centuries of hiding to openly claim the power they’d long held in the shadows. In their wake, chaos reigned. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the city once called Miami, now grimly referred to as “The 305.” This dystopian wasteland has become a battleground, a fractured arena where humans and non-humans alike fight for survival and dominance, and where the veil between this world and the fae realm has grown perilously thin. The 305 is a place of unrelenting struggle, where every faction, whether mortal or supernatural, seeks to carve out their own piece of a broken world.
